22 Mar Thank You Siobhan
Siobhan, Chair of Governors, steps down
Siobhan has stepped down as Chair of Governors. On behalf of the school community I would like to thank her for the positive impact she has made during her tenure and wish her all the best for the future, knowing that she will remain a friend of Canonbury – Patrick.
Dear Parents and Carers,
As some of you may know, I have decided to step down as Chair of Governors at Canonbury. After 7 years as a governor, the last 3 as Chair, it is time to move on. There is growing evidence that the school is once more in a strong and stable position after a period of transition. Our recent external review described leadership as ‘a powerful force for school improvement’ and I am confident they will go from strength to strength. On our Governor Day at the beginning of March we witnessed focused, challenging and creative work in the classrooms both from staff and children. It is clear the Canonbury ethos is alive and well!
Parent Governor, Hannah Clayton will step up from Vice Chair to Acting Chair until the Autumn when a new Chair will be elected. There will also be a space on the Governing Body for a new parent governor in June so if you would like to know more about this please contact the office.
I have hugely enjoyed working with staff and Governors at Canonbury. They are a fantastic team and I wish them and the children of Canonbury great luck for the future.
