10 Feb We’re Going on a Bear Hunt! – Reception
On a cold but sunny Wednesday, Reception took the Overground to Stratford for a visit to ‘Discover’. Upon arrival, we met our story guide, Marian. We settled into the Polka Dot Room where we helped Marian tell an original story. Our main character was called Leonardo and he had an adventure with a ‘scriggly wriggly ant!’ After telling a superb story together, we played in rockets, on slides, ran up and rolled down hills. We also managed to visit the arts and crafts table! Afterwards, we settled down for our packed lunches.
Finally, it was time to go on a bear hunt! We tiptoed into a room and sat in the swishy-swashy grass and listened to the sounds around us. Nobody could hear a bear…YET!
We could see a little house just like Michael Rosen’s, a shed, a giant chocolate cake and a cave. We crossed a cold river, splishy-sploshy, followed by thick oozy mud, squelch-squerch.
Next, we were trapped in a swirling snow storm and we happened upon a deep, dark cave…
Inside, we found not one but lots of BEARS!
