23 May JCA: Day 1
Year 6 have had a great beginning to their time at JCA. After a calm journey to the beautiful Hayling Island, we were greeted by the shining sun. This made us ready and rearing to go for our first activity: abseiling for groups 1-3 and buggy building for groups 3-4.
Ashana, who went abseiling, said, ” I am proud to have actually conquered my fears. I didn’t believe I could abseil from such a height. It was so much fun!”
The children then became acquainted with their rooms, which Ella reports, ” are really nice and cosy.” Frank says that “it’s nice to spend time with your friends.”
Dinner closely followed, with many compliments. Tasfia was particularly fond of the food: “It was good, very yummy!”
Children have enjoyed their evening activity of a group quiz, which included searching the grounds for various clues to solve their mystery questions. Working as part of a team and utilising key strengths have been just some of the stand out qualities from day one’s activities.
We are all looking forward to what the rest of the week will bring us.
We’ll keep you updated but for now goodnight!?
