21 Mar Treginnis Day Four
Year 5 residential trip
Day four began with another new born lamb. Lots are arriving every day.
After breakfast we were back out in the garden. Some of us planted hawthorn and hazel trees to create a hedge around the garden that will protect the crops from the wind and sea as well as providing nature corridors for wildlife. The rest proved themselves at shovelling compost and transporting it to the be spread on the soil. Alan the gardener issued a few wheelbarrow licenses for those with super steering skills.
We spent the afternoon on the beach. The sun shone and the children ran free. They made a fire, went rock pooling, climbed rocks, splashed in pools and had a thoroughly fabulous time.
Quotes from children
Barnaby: ”I really like the food and I learnt a lot about the farm animals. It was different to what I expected but I really like it.”
Sophia: ” I think the most important people are farmers because we wouldn’t get our food otherwise.”
Holly: ”The whole time it was very fun and it got even better especially when we saw the baby lambs being born. I know way more about animals and I feel it’s been a really good experience.”
