Message from Rachel our Year 4 teacher and Music Lead
Hello Canonbury,
I hope that you are all keeping well and are managing to keep yourselves busy, entertained and also relaxed during this unusual time.
One way of keeping ourselves happy is through music. There is science to prove it! Singing actually causes your brain to make you feel happier. If you need some inspiration, look on the school website where you will find some songs, lyrics, backing tracks and even some related craft activities. And from Monday 20th April, you will be able to find even more ideas and resources at http://www.singup.org/singupathome.
If you play a musical instrument, especially all of you in Key Stage 2, I really hope that you have been able to do a little bit of practice. I have been playing the piano a little bit and even practising the clarinet. Check out my video on the music page of the website for proof!
Years 3 & 4: From the start of the summer term we will be posting a weekly video of Lauren teaching you your recorder lesson. The link will be on both the music and your year group page on the website.
Years 5 & 6: Keep practising and looking at Neville’s amazing Canonbury Brass website. You can find the link on this music page and also on your year group pages.
So, if you have been making music at home, I would love to know about it. Perhaps you could send in photos or even short videos. Perhaps some of you could even start your own band or choir!
Happy music making!!
Rachel
