18 May Wonderful Wai Wai workshop!
Year 3 went on a brilliant trip to the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill.
We spent time learning from exhibits of weird and wonderful animals in the Natural History gallery and some of us enjoyed seeing real life animals in the Hands On base and the animal walk!
After a sun-filled lunch, we took part in a workshop all about the Wai Wai tribe who live in the rainforest in Guyana.
We handled artifacts made by the Wai Wai tribe and discovered what they were used for and what they were made from. Would you be able to recognise an Amazonian casava grater? or a root vegetable juicer? Some of us did!
A highlight was being able to get our hands on a caiman – not alive of course..!
