Eat Well Plate in Silver Beech Class
Year 2 have been experimenting with the Eat Well Plate and choosing items to create healthy and balanced salads.
We had to think carefully about our food groups to ensure we had included food with protein, carbohydrates, dairy (if wanted) and five fruits andΒ vegetables.
We tested and rated different salads then designed our own success criteria based on appearance, taste and how balanced it was.
We then designed our salads based on what we liked and learnt key cooking skills such as slicing, grating, chopping and mixing.
We have some real budding chefs in Year 2, thatβs for sure! Healthy Eating went down a treatΒ Β Β Β
